Clifford the Big Red Dog Spends the Night!
In class we have read Clifford's Good Manners. During the next few weeks each child will get a chance to take home a stuffed Clifford and the book. During his sleepover your child should practice some of the good manners that Clifford talks about in the story. Before going to bed please write a short summary of what you did with Clifford and which manners you practiced. Below is an example from one of Clifford's sleepover last year.
- When we got home we played with my toys until my grandparents got here. We went to Rite-Aid, but I left Clifford at home to take a nap. I practiced "don't talk with your mouth full" and "be a good sport". Nana said I had good table manners. After that I fed Clifford some dog food. I had fun with Clifford. I hope he can come back to visit. Love, Max
- Tonight I had a great sleepover with Clifford. I practiced saying "thank you" everytime someone did something nice for me. Then Clifford and I wrote a thank you note to my grandma for my birthday present. Clifford was getting tired of sitting so we went outside and played ball. Then we had dinner. I gave Clifford some of my chicken. Don't tell my mom! Then we went to bed. Clifford told me scary stories. I loved it. Love, Ms. Colwel

I was really lucky because I had Clifford for 5 days over the weekend (an extra day of practicing my good manners because I broke my arm). I said my "pleases" and "thank you's" On Friday I took Clifford to Mom's work and when I met her coworkers I was very polite and said "Nice to meet you!" My sister Amy made Clifford a special bed and took care of him alot this weekend too! Cifford is great fun! Love, Jesse.
